I am pretty much replacing my front tyres (Nankang 245/30/20 NS2) as they are becoming as loud as 4wd tyres!!!

I am looking at Achilles ATR 245/30/20 as they are 93w load rated and supposed to be much quieter...

Or at Altenzo Sport Comforter 245/30/20 as they are 97w load rated and are also supposed to be quiet... Apparently the Achilles are more sporty...

Does anyone have any experience with these tyres?

I dont do track work and dont drive hard around corners... Go to drags occasionally... So only straight line stuff... I just want something quiet! Sick of my car sounding like its a 4wd from the inside!!! Please give feedback asap as I want to change them asap! :yes-sir:

Oh, not that I give a sh*t... Achilles are $168 each and Altenzo $199... And no, nothing else "DECENT" comes out in this size... I have looked for about 6 months!!!

gday worm have the acchilles at the front, not a bad tyre. emergency braking can catch you out but there ok. try tech9tyres, they have a brand by the name accelera phi 2, load rating 93, speed rating y and come in the size you want. and there is some on ebay at $135 a tyre ebay store , tyre clearance warehouse.

All I really care about is...

Noise... (1)

And is steering ok in wet and dry...

If they are not noisy, and grip well enough... (ie. I don't drive super hard or do circuits etc) I will get them fitted tomorrow arvo.

I can fit heaps of different Tyres on the rear to get power down! Heaps of 275/30/20 and 285/30/20 rears in good brands... Most are load rated!!!

I just don't want noise at front! It's driving me insane! That's why I was gonna sell these 20's... As hot as they look, the noise of the Tyres is a killer!!!

225 is too skinny for an 8.5 inch rim!!!

Ford fits 245 to an 8 inch... Hence 8.5 should be at least 245...

Maybe a 35 profile tyre might ride better on the front... Just a bit worried about such skinny Tyres on the rim...

yeah your right, it does expose the rim edge a bit. they have been on there now for over a year, have gone around some corners pretty hard and there still on there. try advance tyres in swan st richmond, they put them on as they say, there japanese as well and they have been putting a 225 on a 8.5 inch rim for years. been doing it on there drift cars from day 1. I have never had a problem since they have been on. your more than welcome to come look one day if you want just pm me.

Were they 225/35/20's stretched over an 8.5 inch rim and not pumped up enough?

Any tyre will split with a big enough hit to a pothole... Or if not fitted correctly.

What are you running if these are so bad?
