The only time I enjoyed that show was when this fat shiela who used to work at my work made the "Blooper" audition tape with all the rest of the duds.

She tried to sing some song from Greese, started in the wrong key, then started in the right key and was still horrible.

Lucky my mate recorded it on his Foxtel IQ and burnt it to DVD so we can watch it again when we need a laugh.

LMAO!

I got a good idea for a new show.

Hi performance street racing.

First they go to a street and knock on someones door that has a hot car and then they take it and line it up on the road with another street car and they race the winner gets to stay and loser goes. they then go to another place and knock on the door and find a place to race on the street and lose goes.

Channel 7 could get away with this as they could arrange road closure for filming, I reckon it would be great.

The other thing they could do it slalom and burnouts etc in private streets and have it on a point system with the best car and driver winning.

Winner would get to have his car transported around australia street racing legally.

I actually don't mind Aussie Idol as long as there's some talent. And man, the audition process can be a pisser. Especially the dudes who think they can actually sing but my bum sounds better after 2 tins of baked beans with extra onion. And Marks touch-downs, now that's art...

The problem with all that is that it's faked up crap. You need to read Ben Elton's book Chart Throb. While it's a piss take of the whole Idol type show, he does reveal some truths the show try to bullsh*t the viewer with.

Things like the really bad auditions are generally hired to do just that, which is why some of them are regurgitated in future episodes when the show starts to get a little slow (ie, the lame Asian rapper a few years ago). Other stuff like how they know right from the start who they're going to pick and how they can make the ones they want to win look more favorable on the TV for voting.

The biggest thing was that if you do the maths on their audition numbers, the show really stands out as a fraud. If they have 100,000+ people audition as they claim, if the judges gave each person 2 minutes and worked 12 hours non stop everyday, it'd take over 270 days to do the first round of auditions.

It's be much more constructive putting reruns of the A-Team on. :welcome2:

The 2 people who voted for it for be banned and then beaten to a bloody pulp.

I cant stand that friggen can you feel it song, its doing my head in. They must play it about 20 times a night, its bad enough hearing it once let alone 20 times.

Just like most TV, media and news it has a slant, an angle a purpose, marketing. Even the news, more so in fact. Don't take TV on face value. Problem is there's the type of "viewer" that see's something on telly and doesn't have the sensibility to know it's mostly a facade. They easily buy in to the angle being presented. And Ben Elston doesn't need to get all Pythagoras on us to work that out. Common sense probably does the trick.

Where's vik351 when you need him - he was a great Idol fan back in the day. I still remember that 'bloody choco wog' thread :innocent:
