Braided Brakes?

Below are a few photos that I took of my front and rear brake hoses today.

Been told by Ford that my car is part of a recall, sorry campaign, to replace the rear brake hoses.

My Ford advisor tells me that I have put braided lines on, as I do track days.

Said No. Won't bore you with the full transcript of that conversation.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, IMO the rear brake hoses as not braided.

Has anyone else gone through this process?

The hoses are rubber with a wire cowling around them, not braided (all the braided hoses I see on the web are stainless steel).

So what do you think?

Offside (Drivers side) rear.

Nearside (Passenger side) rear.

Now unless I am mistaken, the fronts have exactly the same brake hoses.

Offside front.

Nearside Front.

So, if the rear hoses are the same as the front hoses, and the rear hoses are subject to a recall, why aren't the front ones??? Am I missing something here??

I have not touched the brake hoses, so as far as I'm concerned, they are Ford factory fitted brake hoses front & rear.

Please let me know what you think people. And any feedback asap would be appreciated, as I am going to my Ford Dealer Service dept have them (the rears) replaced Wednesday morning.

Thanks

How farkin typical of these stupid farks to claim you have braided lines when they are the exact standard brake lines I have as well. Only difference with my issue is that I got the recall notice and took it in, where they told me my model wasnt part of the recall. Who knows with these morons cause they dont!

My brake hoses look exactly the same as yours.

Mine must be braided too. Woohoo!

Well, you will all be disappointed to know that Ford have confirmed that they are not braided lines.

Bad luck guys, standard boring old factory fitted.

The good news is that afterall my girl isn't part of the recall afterall.

My Ford advisor was very apologetic for the inconvenience etc....

Apparently earlier models (I'll get this wrong in the true tech speak) had a higher suspension setup (or something like that) whereas mine is lower, so all is good.

Said I was OK, if there was a potential brake issue, best it's resolved and the Ford records are accurate. Don't want any warranty issues down the track.

Yes, not thrilled by all this, but it's a learning experience and I have a slightly better appreciation of the intricacy of our cars. Whether I can do anything with it is another thing.

Thanks guys, your words of wisdom are embraced with the enthusiasm that you send them to me!
