Dude... poor thing....

gear changing is now a lot different to that which it was about 10 yrs ago....

I remember the old leaver on the bottom tube, or even in the middle of the top of the handle bars... flick forward for up and back for down... simple as piss...

anyways, campy and shimano are different even when it comes to gear changing... while u flick the leaver either side on the shimano of the break leaver... the campy have a second little leaver on the side of the break leaver... so 3 in total, gear change up, gear change down, then the break also... (one on each side of the bar)....

Anyways... nice work mate, I used to ride about 40kms every night after work, and a few hundred on weekends... but nothing over the past 18 months... just couch it, and stuff around on here talking to all the guys in here... yeah eatting chips, and drinking cans of coke... FAT GUT!!!

:( hehehe

anyways..... sure tabs will be along to bring this one down sooner or later... :P:verysad1:

Come on smicky who are you kidding mate "one of the black beasts" :roflmbo: You only have one and we all know it's the F6 XR5 is no beast it's good but not great.

You both lost me with all that bike talk. BAH BAH BAH. Been wanting to get one but not sure if I should get myself a road bike or a down hill bike.

Off tomorrow and off to ford to test drive a XR5. It's got the better of me..............thanks smicky :spoton:

If you want to ride down hills, get a down hill bike.

If you want to ride on the road, get a road bike.

Go to a good bike store, tell them you have $X budget to kit out (keep in mind the bike is only a portion of the cost, as accessories mount up cost) and tell them what you want to do. They'll point you to the best option, as most are enthusiasts themselves.

Hey Angel,

Mate, I tell u, I'm having more fun in the XR5 at the moment then I do in the F6....

Something about it... maybe the manual, or the little Go Kart feeling, or the fact its new, I dont know... It will prob wear off soon enough, but its a bag load of fun!

Good luck with the test drive... remember its not urs, and it is a demo there for... 'TEST THE sh*t OUT OF IT'... drive it like I stole it, and im sure u will have a bag load of fun also!!!

As for the bike, good advise from Grudgee - im a road boy, and never been into mountain biking, prefer to drive down hill in a 4wd then haul arse on a bike... road is fun, relaxing at times, or serious if u want to give your self a kick up the but... mountain biking is well if your serious then always full on... I guess that the difference...

Few brands to check out if you looking at over 1500$ - Cannondale (that's what I ride), Trek, Felt, Giant, Scott, there is a lot of others, but these are a few which come to mind instantly... and typically good rides!

Anyways - let us all know what you think of the XR5 mate!

Thanks you the advice Grudgee I'll keep that in mind when I decide on which one I'll get. The bike would be going to and from work; work is around 10kms away so not far at all.

The road would be best for going to work and back, but as an adrenaline junkie would like the mountain bike.

Hey smicky,

I was unable to test drive the XR5 yesterday as I was called ito work. Bastarts. :hiwelcome:

I'll try this weekend or sometime next week on me days off. I'll post the out come.

I'm sure it's the thrill of having a new car plus being a pocket rocket would help too. Only taken the piss out of ya, I'll be the same as you just having so much fun. ENJOY mate and I'm sure you are :tosser:

Fuji do good bikes too.

If your work is only 10km and you also like the down-hill stuff, you could go for a down-hill bike and do both easily. Just remember that 10km on a down-hill bike will be like 15km on a road bike. The downhill bike will be more rugged, so you can scoot up driveways, bang over rough road and such without worrying about killing your tube and/or rim. I can't ride to work in the winter, as there is about 5km of sh*tty road near work (industrial area) which is always full of glass, rocks, boulders, mud, dirt, potholes, craters, sticks and fallen trees. Add f*ckwit truck drivers (there's always one per day as a minimum) and it's too dangerous.
