I wasn't game to try that just in case the problem was the tank wasn't filling properly.

( I've done an extra 70-80kms since the DTE has read 0kms.)I fill up the tank and it takes 63L.I do this a few more times and the DTE gets a lot closer to what it should be.I've found the Fuel Consumed counter to be so accurate I don't even bother with it. I just go off fuel consumed and fill my car if it gets just over 60L.

(it was showing empty and 0km range at 45 litres used)Anyway the dealer had the car again week - fitted a new fuel sensor. Seems to have helped the calibration. Have just filled up for the first time since the new sensor was fitted - I'd say its fixed the problem mostly - I'll see how the next few tankfulls work out. All cars from new generally have a very high fuel usage reading, so the average fuel consumption is through the roof, maybe it takes a couple of tanks to sort it out and let the computer know that there is actually heaps more kms to be had out of the tank and not 0kms. Anywho glad you got it sorted!

Tank out isn't necessary. All that has to be removed is the bottom section of the rear seat.Once removed, on the passenger side you will find a big rubber plug/grommet, about 6-8 inches in diameter.Under that will be the intank fuel pump and sender unit.Pretty straight forward for a pump or sender replacement.
