Ive got a BA N/A xr6 that has been converted to turbo im about to put a new t56 into it was also looking for some more power from the engine. Is the pistons and crank the only difference between my na block and xr6t block.Just wanted to see if there is anything I can get replaced (eg rods, pistons crank) to bring me up to 300kw. So I just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything else holding the motor back Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/48202-xr6-turbo-vs-na-block-and-crank/page/2/#findComment-714582 Share on other sites

The XR6 TURBO motor uses different rods to the petrol I6 But the SAME rods and the LPG I6. This goes for the typhoon as well. The pistons in the turbo motor are different altogether. I'm not sure how they lower they're compressioin ratio, probable a mix between pistons and combustion chamber design. The other difference in the TURBO motors to the N/A Motors is the exhaust valves and the valve springs. I'm sure there is a few more though. I'm also doing the N/A to turbo conversion and I'm looking for a decent set of rods and pistons to put into my I6. I may go with the stock falcon LPG I6 rods as these will do the job but I may be in the quest for more power sooner than I think haha Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/48202-xr6-turbo-vs-na-block-and-crank/page/2/#findComment-715462 Share on other sites
Venom XR6 Member 1,460 Member For: 22y 8d Location: Geelong Victoria Posted 07/08/08 08:07 AM Share Posted 07/08/08 08:07 AM Compression drop is via dished pistons, all the combustion chambers are the same size and shape.
