Well as they say on talk back radio, "Long time reader, First time poster"

Sold my old '88 EA Fairmont Ghia and am anticipating the arrival of my new 'T'!

Apparently it's due to be built early next month.

BA XR6 Turbo

Mercury Silver

Manual (Who the hell would buy a sports car and want it as an auto?!?!? )

Premium Audio

External audio input

Tow Pack

Boot liner

Mud spats

XR Carpet Mats

XR Scuff plates (although I might grab a set of fordxr6turbo.com ones later :P)

Bonnet protector

Headlamp guards

Pollen Filter

Dark window tinting

Alarm (must have I think)

And the icing on the cake, personalised plates.

Bought a portable dvd/mp3 player in Japan when I was there on holidays and I have just he place to mount it, save me 2 grand :P

Cant get enough of this, but the wait is about to kill me.

I've been reading the site on and off for about 3 months now. I must say it's a great source of info and has helped me in a few decisions about the car in general. Keep up the good work guys.

Welcome DankMan :blush::)

Great choice of color and options too, maybe you should have optioned prem brakes too because it sounds like youre going to give it some.

keep us up to date on youre order, we all enjoy reading updates.

how was your experience with your dealer, some of us have had bad ones

why did you pick Merc silver over other colors, personaly I think it looks more mean and classy at the same time.

did you get a test drive before signing for the car?

Well a bit of a mixed bag and a long story.

Had Cumberland ford quote. Almost accepted the quote for 42 grand with all my options, no one come close. 48k was about the best, I found out that he quoted me on the N/A not the turbo :oooh:

Test drove the XR6 N/A here in wagga and was excelent. The local Ford dealer eventually got a Turbo but it was only an Auto. No one was really interested in helping me find a manual to test drive. One of my customers got a N/A XR6 Manual and I took it for a spin and fell in love with it.

As much as the SSS is cool, it still , to me anyways, feels like a glorified Auto, I could still feel a hesitation when changing gears. I like to know that I have full control of the car, plus its a lot more fun

Nearly had the car early this month but the finance company screwed me around (I'm getting a novated lease and missed some paperwork they told me) so the dealer swapped the one he would have sold me for an August build.

From what I've seen you guys you should try a country dealer, all of them could guarantee at most one month waiting time if you needed the car modded from what they had on the lot.

Mine is now comming from Biti Motors in Culcairn, about 45 minutes drive from Wagga.

Welcome to the show dankman.

Great spec and if you're happy now...........well, ya better invest in some extra underdacks for when you really get ta drive tha thing.......WHOAAA.

Even though I have the slusher myself, I do prefer the control you get through the spaniard (emanuall) though if you think it a drudge in the high performance stakes, take a long hard look at what "dynosteve" is doing with a stock auto.

Any way I'll move on to make way for a welcome from KEN24T.

Enjoy.........

Everybody seems to be buying Mercury Silver cars of late (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Nothing wrong with autos either, just comes down to personal preference I guess.

COngrats on the purchase and hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it.

I do thicken a bit with venom.

However, my silver bird was dealer stock and so I just had to be taken to the cleaners so I didn't have to wait too long.

Just sorry I couldn't spring the extra $2k for the 18's that were on it from the factory.

As they say in the classic's, ya never miss what ya never had...........NOT.
