I have the premium sound in my T and I'm so disappointed in it. It is no where near as good as the BA I had. What can be done to improve this? I know the speakers are 6" instead of 7 x 5's and the head unit is still a Blaupunkt. I the AMP and sub identical to the previous model? Does the AMP control all the speakers or just the rear? I have been told it's difficult to change the AMP and SUB because of the wiring and plug connections to the head unit. I don't want a Doof Doof machine and it won't be entered in to any comps either, I just want a good sounding stereo for the long drives. I don't think this stereo is as nearly as loud as the BA. Having the rear speakers in the doors I don't think helps either. I have an installer for JB making inquires about the FG setup so he can pass on what he thinks I should do.I don't want to spend a whole lot but between 500 - 1000 would probably be my limit. Please pass on your thoughts.Cheeers,Greg

Yes the Upgraded DVD unit is, but not the standard sh*tty one!!Spend 500 bucks on a set of decent splits for front, 200 on a decent sub for the back, 100 bucks on back door speakers, and 200 to install if ya lucky. Still the headunit is going to let you down.

Pretty much this deck http://us.sanyo.com/entertainment/mobile/I...?productID=1137 butt remade for fords applicationsFinally my car stereo installers managed to tap into the screen for my PS/2 and Reverse Camera. It is quite a mission to run RCA out as well.Depends how far you want to go really. Im replacing everythign with a Type R system with two subs, pdx 1 1000 and pdx 4150.This comming out of a Alpine HEX650 digital processor which receives line signal from head unit and therefore adds eq, delay etc etc. Edited 31/07/08 09:37 AM by djkice

Did he open the screen and tap a point for video? This sounds very interesting.
BAXR6T Member 187 Member For: 22y 3m 28d Location: Melbourne Posted 01/08/08 08:20 AM Author Share Posted 01/08/08 08:20 AM The marketing guy at the Melbourne motor show. He sat in the car with me after it took me 10min to get the key so he could demonstrate everything. He told me it was a Blaupunkt as was the BA/BF. I said to him I thought they were Sanyo units, he said no. I'm only going on what I have been told.Anyway I have purchased 180w MTX splits for the front, 120w 2 way MTX for the rear and a 4x 600W Pioneer amp to run the 6 speakers. I'm leaving the other amp which powers the sub on it's own alone. All up inc. 8 gauge sony wiring kit & install $850. I got about $300 off and have to wait a week to get it installed. I will let you know how it goesGreg

I now have no distortion and have my BASE back. Here are a few pics of the FG rear & A pillar splits and the pioneer AMP under the passenger seat. As you can see the speakers are all 28W. The factory AMP still controls the SUB and now the sub seems to work a lot better than it did. I'm a little happy Vegemite now.Cheers,Greg
