Alright guys, I just bought the PBR Performance Kit and will be installing it on the weekend if the weather holds up and its not too cold. I got the whole shebang for $1540 which was too good to pass up. Even my missus thought it was a great deal when I told her Jim Mock Motorsport charge something like $2800 fitted.

Just wondering if I will run into any problems installing this kit.

I will post pics and a wrte up when its all done.

Cheers

Hey Mate, its a pretty easy install, straght swap. The only issue I ran into when doing mine was that the rivets supplied to secure the new rear braided line brackets were too small, so you may need to get some larger rivets for that.

Apart from that everything was really easy and the braking performance is waaaaayyyy better, the raided lines make a massive difference in pedal feel - don't forget to bleed the brakes a couple of times though!

I think if you have had experience with rotors, the greasing, the taking off wheels and climbing into wheel arches etc and want to get your hands dirty its possible.

It cost me $200 to have the kit installed by my local mechanic and that included 2x500ml of PBR Gold dot brake fluid that you have to use.

They are fantastic and I have been saved once I think all because I upgraded the brakes.

No big problems

Just a couple of tips, brake dust is bad for you so degrease and hose the brakes clean before you work on then.

To help bed the brakes in, before fitting rub the pads on a bit of flat concrete until the metal fleck start to show and use some brake cleaner to remove the varnish from the disc.

If you dont have anyone to help bleed the brakes, you can get a one man bleed kit from repco.

Decided with Melbournes cold weather and alot of renovating to do around the house I will get Nizpro to do it.

For $250 it sure beats 4 hours in the cold outside doing it myself.

Well I picked up the car today and the brakes look great and feel very good compared to those sponges I had before.

I will give it about 500k's before taking it down the GOR for a test.

Just one question though. Now I have a steering shudder when turning right at real slow speeds.

Doesn't do it when turning left though.

Does it need a wheel alignment now???

Cheers

No.

That is air in the power steering system. It happens when the steering is turned without the engine running.

Just keep driving it and you'll notice it less and less until it goes away. It won't take long.
