how easy is it to weld in a metalcat? Does it require a new dump pipe as well? plus a flange and adapter for the rest of the exhaust.

I spose it depends on your metal cat inlet/outlet size, I believe the BA has a 3" front pipe, so if it matches welding it in would be fairly easy

I went in today to get my cat changed over but my ba has a twin system therefor it has 2 outlets in the stock cat. you need to change the cat then split is back after the cat. not as simple.

Got done today

- 3.5" metal cat to stock exhaust with xforce splitter (3.5" to twin 2 1/4")

- replace centre muffler with two hot dog style resonators $70 per side

Hi Ryan, I was just about to ask a question I think you may of answered( what size exhaust has the standard T).

So im assuming its 2 1/4''. correct ?

What make of cat did you get ? and what does she sound like with the hotdogs in place of the centre muffler, not too loud that the boys in blue get attracted I hope.

I have been checking e bay for 3.5'' metal cats but none available yet, wheres a good spot to get one ?

Whats the concensus on the best make of cat ?

A lot of questions I know but I like to be well informed before I part with my hard earned casharoony.

cheers dg

DG,

BA mk1 stock system is twin 2 1/4" pipes from cat back mate.

Metal cat 3.5" s/s metal packed internals. my exhaust shop ordered it in in a day mate...

3.5" to twin 2 1/4" Xforce splitter was $70 supplied & fitted

As for how it sounds it sounds, sweet!

burbles and has a nice and deep note, doesnt drone but I have been taking it easy since no custom tune at the present time.

Dont worry DG I looked around for a while first, didnt like the systems on offer so had this built up to be different and I am happy I did it, really happy with the results so far..

Cheers

Ryan
