Help! Tricked Up 4spd Auto's

Any idea how much $ im looking at to get my auto rebuilt and 3000 stall? Rough idea

Tony Dominello from Dominello Automatics (02 9651 5893) in Sydney built me what he calls a BTR 4 Speed Street and Strip transmission. This box has a year warranty on anything you can/what/will hit it with. He has Boxes/Stallies in XR6T with power levels over 500 + KWs. My Ute has only 360 KW's and 5000 km on it now with no problems with Strong Shifts and 2300 Stally. Mine was sent from Cairns with no issues with Logistics. Turnaround time was 12 Days with 6 of these being Freight. The cost is exxy but compared to a ZF it's cheap as chips, had quotes from 9 to 18 K for a Strengthened ZF. A local Engine Builder up here has been using his Boxes for a few years now and has not had one returned.

When getting your tune written leave all the factory settings and depending on Stally sized the setup could take up to 14.5 Litres to fill with a larger pan fitted. Factory specs are 10.5 Litres. Also get the Flexplate strengthened I'm on my 3'rd.

a mate of mine had Dominello build his box(4sp).he had constant problems with it. when my mate took the box to a another performance place the guy said the box was stock and that Dominello only increased the boxes pressures.we took the box back to Dominello and he wouldnt refund the money.

Mine is in at A J Dominello Race tans at the moment. Had a 2800 stall that let go, so its getting a rebuild and a 3000rpm stall. Anyone else had them build a box?

anyone got any experience and turn around time and drive in/out prices for bayswater and/or preston autos for a auto rebuild, 2800~ stally build? (transcooler?) Ive read heaps of threads but all dated 2008 and yeah... need some recent prices and experiences...

Abolsolute BS , and very misleading. A brand new ZF will cost ~ $6500k retail from Fraud brand new & fitted

and your talking another 10+g for a rebuild GTFO.

Not doubting the quality of Dominello's work , the pricing is BS as if you know what you are actually quoting for.

Did he build the box or just do a valve body mod to increase the line pressure on shifting. ?

PS.This with a tranny cooler were the best mods of the day , 5 years ago. BTW I did 'em at the time,

Just to update, got mine done at Dominellos. Fully rebuilt with a 3500 stally aswell. Been aprox 12000km since and havnt had a drama at all. Car has 344rwkw with the 3500 stall n is driven pretty bloody hard too! No complaints from me!

Id be going to see Phil at Bayswater, honest fairly priced and no bullsh*t service, plus he doesnt take forever to finish the job, unlike Yarra Valley automatics.
