Hey Guys,

I recently brought a xr6 turbo,

its modifiled like blow off valve, full exhaust with a 3 inch dump pipe, larger intercooler and that,

not to sure if its been capa flashed or if the boost is raised,

just wondering on my trip computer it says I average 22l per 100km? and u know how u set it so u can see how much your using while your driving, yeh I put that on and I dnt even push it I only go just above 2000 rpm and its reads 30+ litres per 100k???

and also when I fill it up it reads 400+ kms left but I travel a few 100 metres and it drops down like 2 or 3 km?

is this normal or do I have to go get it checked out?

sorry guys dont really know alot about these cars,

if yous could help me much appreciated as I dont want to spend heaps on petrol,

Thanks, Dragi

if its still in warm up mode it uses more... tbh I realy struggle to get mine below 15l per km lol but I have lead in my foot lol... my advise... just fill it up.. drive it until you have to fill it up again and try not to look at it and just swipe the card :P

Hi there, I am getting about 15L/100km but have seen it alot higher. I knew when I bought this car that fuel useage would be high but that's the price you pay for a large turbo charged motor.

22ltrs per 100km is a high average though.

I would say that your car has been tuned and could be flashed at its highest stage. What I mean is that most tuners will add an 'economy' tune to the flasher.

do you still have your unit??

More information is required to see if there may or may not be a problem.

Is it at normal operating temp or cold.

Do you drive like a hoon or a nanna.

Is the tune you've got installed correct after all the mods that have been done.

Manual or auto.

If you were after an economical car you definately shouldn't have bought a turbo 6.

2000rpm in first gear or top gear.

Road speed.

All contributing factors in your cause mate.

Yeah, im not too worried about fuel comsumption as long as the fuel is top quality and it doesnt ping on 98. But you might need to get your checked out as 22l per 100km is a bit high.

My BF XR6T ZF auto shows average at the moment of 10.6L/100km. Its my best so far, normally around 11-11.2L/100km. Combines freway and city driving and I give her a squirt here and there. Just an indication how bad your fuel consumption is.

Maco

Our BF manual is tuned to 340 rwkw we generally do mostly short trips, to the shop pick up kids ect. With a decent measure of "foot down" if its had a few trips and is warm. Our av is 15.6l/100 obviously goes down after a cruise.

But basically make sure its all set up right and then move the trip computer so you cant see the fuel use. It wont be good.
