Hey guys,

I know absolutely nothing about lowering and suspension etc so im lookin for some tips

I have a FG XR6T on order and am looking to lower it as soon as I get it. Does anyone know if this screws up the warranty?? Are king springs making springs for the FG yet?

Looks like SL's in the front and SSL's in the rear are the way to go from all the other posts- is this still legal height and wont give me too many problems with speed bumps and driveways?

Just putting in springs is the way to go without having to change the springs as well?? And lastly a reliable suspension shop in brisbane- I dont mind paying a bit extra for a job I know will be done right.

Thanks guys- sorry if these have been answered b4, I looked through 15 pages and couldnt see too much.

I know Pedders have some lowered springs available for the FG but I don't think Kings have got anything available yet. As for the SL and SSL idea I'm not sure if that will still be the prefered option for the FG as it was in the BA/BF, will have to wait and see. With this combo in the BA/BF the car would sit right on the limit of being legal I believe. That's 100mm to the lowest hanging part of the vehicle.

If you are going to lower your car then expect to be a little more careful when encountering driveways and speed humps, these will posses a new risk.

I too am waiting on available options for the FG and it's all a bit of unchartered territory at the moment. I'll be getting Tein coilovers when I can.

Ok cool thanks Benny, As I know absolutely nothing about lowering :P do you reckon I will get away with just changing the springs? or is there more involved with shocks- rubbers etc??

Matt,

It all depends on how much you would like to spend and what result you are looking for. If you want to improve the handling a lot then I'd suggest a full suspension package including shocks, springs, bushes etc. If you would like to just change the look of your car and slightly improve it's road holding capability then a set of springs will do. I suggest for up your way to have a talk to Fulcrum Suspensions they will have everything you need whether it be mild or full house. That's where I got my setup from.
