need to get new tryes soon and after seeing a lot of guys of late lose it in the wet even though im aware most of these are the result of driving like an idoit . just out of interest what are most ppl using on 18 inch rims was looking at these dunlop SP SPORT MAXX and whats the round about price I should expect to pay per tyre

cheers ill check out that site , now I wonder if any of these places will ship to oz because they are a crap load cheaper ...................ill try calling a few monday and try my luck

I pposted this b4 but it didnt end up here for some reason..... I just bought maxxis maz4's from bob jane for $289.... great price and made for the wet!! its a new tyre by them or so I was told... after driving in the rain the past few days, I must say they are excellent!!

If you want the best (no comprimises), and are willing to pay for it get the Michelin Pilot Sport 2's @ about $600 a corner.

There is absolutely no difference wet to dry, and I have no hesitation pushing them beyond belief in any conditions :stirthepot:

Failing that, the Michelin Pilot Preceda 2's are a bit cheaper and provide top notch wet/dry performance. Much better than any dunlop, pirelli (non semi slick) and Yokohama.

was thinking toyo r888 a week or two ago but since all this rain have had a rethink as im guessing they would be no good in the rain sice they are semi slick or am I wrong , and thanks for the reply jetute and cro ill check out both

I have a set of federal 595rs-r on the back end & I come from the wettest place in the country. there not like what I thought a semi slick would be like in the wet. if your reasonable & dont ask too much of them there fine (smashing it on boost) youd never know they were any different. bonus is if you nail it in the dry with abit of heat in them you get awesome traction. but you do have to be abit careful when givin it some when its abit greasy but no difference in any car with any power. the thing is your not always gonna be drivin in wet weather.
