My car is manual, if I approach a red light etc and clutch in then roll to the line using brake and no engine, while still moving my engine drops to 500rpm and then sometimes cuts out. What is causing this? Can I idle my car up?Think the problem has got worse since I chucked an amp and sub in.If you answer anything can it be at least how to idle upCheers

Mine did the same when I had the hi beams on for a while and I slowed down. Had the battery checked and was told it was almost dead. Also clean your throttle body if its not the battery. Sorry can't be more help.

My car does it even when no music is running, no lights, no nothing, so im a little puzzled by this, my last ba didnt do it unless I put on high beams / spotties and lots of music and the battery was in poor condition, would like to see if anyone else has this problem, and hopefully someone out there found a fix for itCheersMarc Edited 22/07/08 12:33 PM by marcthelegend

I checked the alernator, and sure enough that was it.There was so much free play in the shaft. Just a thought.Lifting the idle is not the way to solve it though, this is ecu controlled.
