Heyy all!!

Once again, thanx for the help regarding the 'cheap' mods.

I wanted to know what to get if all I want is a better sounding exhaust, no performance gain..would a 2.5" CATnack be suitable for a BF XR6? I beleive there is an emissions problem when changing the CAT, is it a problem when only changing the CATback?

Ive ben quoted 450 for Difilippo 2.5" Catback system fully installed (1 yr warranty)

thanx!

a 2.5" cat back wont affect the cat because the system is from the "cat-back" there is no need to change the cat, they are perfectly fine. you will still get a performance gain because you are increasing the flow. if your after a good note, the 2.5" catback would be good, but get a straight through muffler and this will sound better and sportier than a chambered muffler, and just keep the middle muffler. another variable to sound is the thickness of the steel, a thicker steel to me personally sounds better, doesnt sound cheap. also a set of pacemaker 4490 or 4495 extracters would be good and will improve efficiancy and power.

Hey mate, even buying a XR6T exhaust and running a pod filter makes the car sounds really good at idle, doesnt drone and sounds good when you put the foot down.

Hey all,

I went to a few places around the eastern subs in Melbourne and got a few quotes:

1) $780 for a Stainless steel Xforce 2.5" CatBack installed

2) $656 for a Mild Steel Redback 2.5" installed

3) $550 for a Mild Steel Difilippo 2.5" installed

What seems the best and if people who have heard the difference which gives a "meaner" more deeper note?

thanx in advance!

Stainless steel options are best. I have heard good things about the Difilippo systems, so if the budget can stretch get that in the SS setup

G'day mate. You can run into problems when changing the CAT on the BF's as they have a downstream O2 Sensor bit I've heard a few people just get a flash tune and they can get rid of the fault. I have a BFMKII N/A and I just took it to exhaust brothers and for $150 they cut out both the mufflers from the cat back and I got them to put a hotdog in there to act as a resonator and create less drone, so I'm left with a straight through system, and its loud!
