I have a saggy and crooked muffler that leans to one side. Always had it and it always comes up on cruises and drives. So after putting up with it for 18 months and though I have asked for it to be fixed before and told by Ford service that its not possible, today I get "its easily fixed but we are going to charge you".

Its been crooked since day one and I have mentioned it before and been fobbed off in one way or another. My car is just in today for a clunky diff but im to be charged for a small bracket adjustement, about $85 from memory.

Ive rang the Ford help line for advice and been left helpless with "As you choose to service your car elswhere it is your responsibility to get it fixed". How the faaaaaaaaaaark is it????

What does me choosing to service my car elsewhere have to do with there orginal defect in the workmenship.

Fuming I went back to the service department and was told that Ford "Good will" work will not be carried out as I dont get my car serviced by Ford. So this is the ransom that is held out to us if we choose not to have $400 oil changes.

Ive made my mind up and this will be the last Ford I own. Great car but the never ending and ongoing BS is just not worth the trouble anymore. Back to European built quality cars when im done with this one.

I will now however, never reccomend a Ford to anyone and I will make my best efforts to convince as many ppl as possible that a Ford is nothing but a lifetime of trouble and embarressment.

Sorry for the winge.

I.B.

It's bloddy ridiculous isn't it!

I don't bother with warranty work... My mechanic fixes it and that's the end of it.

In line with the warranty that Ford offers with the car a diff bush is replaced. So I should be more appreciative and count how lucky I am that Ford has done something for me??

Ive calmed down somewhat from my 1st post and just hope that I dont need anymore warranty work as it is just nothing but a hassle. Maybe when you work for Ford you get better service.

Never had any of these dramas with the Astra. 6 years, 1 set of pads and a timing belt.

IB, you run a flash tuner in your car, why should Ford warrant the thing when its not within their specs? Lets be sensible here, there are a ton of people driving around with 8's & T's in stock form and they have no problem with their diff bush, on the flip side there are a couple of stock cars that have needed replacements too. I haven't done a diff bush and you've seen how I drive...

Beside, is your Astra modified? Do you drive it as hard as your T? Apples for apples mate, my GF's Focus hasn't had any probs either but just because my T needed a new diff due to a bad rear seal doesn't mean I'm gonna quit my job and bag the Brand

My Car was 2 months out of warranty and ford Care gave me the same bullsh*t when I asked them to fix my heater. They wanted to charge me $1000 and because I have serviced my car at Tunehouse they would not do it under good will. They clearly said if I had a ford service history they would have fixed it. I think it was a load of crap and I will not be going to Ford for a new car anytime soon.

I’m no massive fan of manufacturer servicing, but that’s fair enough isn’t it?

Yeah I’d be pissed off, but the warranty is for a defined period and is open for extension.

Its in black and white guys, everyone has heard it - you play, you pay. Try it with any other manufacturer, I bet you get the same bullsh*t
