Hey guys,

I remember reading somewhere that in BA's, a certain line or something (either oil or power steering fluid) can rupture and leak into the coolant tank, or vice versa possibly...?

Does anyone know the problem I'm talking about? I've heard its pretty common...

Does anyone knoe if BF's have this same inherent problem as the BA's???

(And coz I dont want to start a new thread for one small question - can anyone tell me after what month, the BF MKI's had the stronger F6 bottom end? I'm looking at a 2006 one atm and I wanted to know if it had the stronger engine...I'm unsure of the production date atm...Thanks!!)

Thanks for the input everyone,

Dan

I have no idea how power steering fluid would get into the coolant.

I think you might mean auto fluid.

I personally don't know anyone that it's happened to.

Basically an unwritten rule that the T's from 06/06 have the Typhoon internals. Copied this from another topic

the trans fluid is no big deal you just get a seperate trans cooler and bypass the radiator ,there a good idea the seperate trans cooler anyway

yeah the BA's radiator crack's so the auto trans fluid and coolant mix water in the trans is not good rebuild is required I'v done plenty

just need to put a separate trans cooler on

not to sure about the BF haven't had one come in yet so that might be saying something

I think it's mainly from a bad batch of radiators

Keep in mind that bypassing the in-radiator-tranny-oil-cooler (mouthful) you're also bypassing the ability for it to act as a heat exchanger and warm up the tranny from cold starts.

so tab, what your saying is if you put on a tranny cooler your tranny wont warm up as fast?

I actually just wanna know cuz I've just got nizpro to put on a tranny cooler :P

That's the idea.

They use heat from the coolant to warm up the oil and once hot help mantain it at a constant level. Same goes for engine oil coolers that use coolant.

Righto then,

Thanks for clearing that up guys! Does this apply for all BA models? XR6/XR6T/XR8's?
