the tailshaft is the same between NA and turbo 5 speeds ,....the turbo diff is LSD thou

all input shafts on turbo t5/na t5 and 6 T56 are the same with fine spline shafts.

If upgrading to a t56 you have to change the yoke and crosmember , and as said before wire in the reverse lockout

solenoid.

Mal Wood's could tell you everything you need. They've done plenty of T5 to T56 conversions.

From what I understand the only difference in the tailshaft is the yoke that slides onto the splines of the gearbox mainshaft. Whether you replace just the yoke or the whole shaft is up to you.

Any info on this topic or how things went murrayallstar? I have a ba 04 xr6 turbo with a five speed manual that's starting to play up. I will get all the parts and do the conversion myself. Just want to know what's involved and a parts list. cheers fellas.

Cheers guys I'll give mal wood a call, also he'll be able to tell me what is needed. Like if I can use the t5 bell housing, for the t56 or tr6060 and how to sought out the the reverse lock out and if I can modify my t5 crossmember to fit the t56 or tr6060 and the extent of modification needed. But I plan on sourcing all the parts myself and doing all the work myself. On a very tight budget and just the kit from mal woods is too pricey, but if I source the parts myself I should be able to do it cheaper.

Like if I can use the t5 bell housing, for the t56 or tr6060 You can't. T5 bellhousings is integral and supports the input shaft bearing

and how to sought out the the reverse lock out Earth the solenoid at the box and tee into the brake pedal switch for the +ve feed when the pedal is depressed

and if I can modify my t5 crossmember to fit the t56 or tr6060 and the extent of modification needed. You'll need the T56 cross member. The effort to modify the cross member (being ally) isn't worth the cost. T56 cross members are cheap and easy to come by.

But I plan on sourcing all the parts myself and doing all the work myself.

On a cost to effort ratio Mal's kit's are very good value. Literally everything is included and new parts are used. I wouldn't expect too much help from somebody who has done the R&D and offers a product if you intend to do it yourself.

Also part numbers and other things and if I could get any with using a holden specific box and swap parts ect

Again budget build or not the holden box is not worth the effort. The shifter locations are incorrect, input and output shaft are different and the cost to rectify this will soon be higher than a Ford T56
