I think you've hit the nail on the head on all counts, extra cabin noise in the utes come from the vents on the back wall....

On Saturday I pulled the rear wall trim piece away on one side, there's no sound deadening on the rear wall itself but some felt on the inside of the trim.

I think my first effort will be to remove that rear trim and stick some sound deadening directly to the steel panel and see if that makes any difference.

Guess coming from a Bravo 4wd ute, I found the XR6t much quieter inside. Or because I am taking it easy, trying not to go over 4000 rpm as handbook suggested for the first 1500 km. After the 3000 km check up, I will be flooring it.

Ive had my FGT ute for 5 months now , all good overall , 10,000 klms , engine and body package real good , only down points , luxury pack leather seats, sagged out soft, crap . All show , soft and supple , no real comfort, feels like a 300k old Hilux ute seat. and ute cover useless destroyed and gone all limp.

Apart from that is all good, No problems like my BA ,with everything coming loose, everything just as tight as when I bought it .

I give it a 8 outa 10 :)
