Guys,

Just thought I'd list the weight of my FG XR6T. Just ran it over the weighbridge about 10 mins ago and with a full tank of fuel, filled up this morning, and no driver the car tipped the scales at 1780kgs. Thought this might come in handy for others.

They are pretty much the same as the BA/BF mate, even though the cars have more to them, the alloy components in the front suspension dropped about 20kg so they are only marginally heavier than the BA's

BTW, my BA in full street trim weighs in at 1820kg

I had to take mine over the weighbridge to clarify the vehicle weight for rego. 1780kg with half a tank of fuel.

Did you know- not anywhere on the car or in the owners manual or warranty book is the weight of the car.

Quite odd I thought.

I rang my dealer and they could only quote me a weight from a brochure and it was only for the XT poverty pack.

What's up with that???

Every car is a different weight as they all come with different options. The povo XT has zero options so it would be the falcons min weight.

Actually they must have gained weight since the F6 is around 90kg heavier than a XR6T on the BF's.

According to Ford they put on 10-15kg, but considering the engine and suspension changes saved them around 40kg, they've managed to

add around 50kg of lard to an already lard arsed vehicle, instead of keeping that weight off.

I guess the if they attempt to make these vehicle lighter, it will only drive the cost upwards.

Most likley the use of the more exotic materials would do this, come on Ford bring on the aluminium bonnet!!!
