Hi guys, I just bought an aftermarket intercooler for my XR6 Turbo and I either need some help installing it (Just tell me how to do it) .....or...... can someone please tell me of someone who can do the job for me (paid ofcourse) I live on the Sunshine Coast, so someone close to here would be preferable.

Cheers in advance

Hi, thanks for the reply, I bought it off a guy in Bris on ebay, it is apparently a 'bolt straight on' for the T....

The add said........

FMIC INTERCOOLER

450x300x76 Bar and plate

XR6 TURBO BOLT on ITEM with fitting parts

And I'm not really mechanically minded, so I have no idea how to remove the standard intercooler... but I assume it involves removal of the front bar assembly..... I would try it, but I'm not keen on doing things that I have no idea about! lol

You need to remove the under tray, front bar and the OEM cooler and associated pipe work. It’s not that difficult but if you’re not mechanically minded and more importantly don't have the correct tools, it will be a pain the backside.

Also be aware, that no matter how much they tell you it is “bolt on kit” THEY NEVER ARE – especially the ebay ones. I can almost guarantee that it will not bolt straight in without cutting the front bar, or support and you most likely have to bend the air-conditioner lines out of the way too. Not something you should tackle if you have no idea what you’re doing.

Good luck with it anyway!

In the intercooler workshop page scroll down to "Bumper Removal". It will tell you how to remove the front bar. It's really easy I just did mine last w/e. The intercooler isn't that hard to remove. If your new one doesn't fit exactly then just get some bits made up. I got two pieces of piping made for mine and it only cost me $45 from nissan welding at yamanto.
