Well I replaced my top and bottom heater hoses and when I took the factory hoses off there was a small hose connecting the top and bottom hose together....

What purpose does this connection serve?

If the cross peice isn't put back on what will happen?

I think the connecting peice is only on T's with premium sound and Typhoons ????

Never seen with my own eyes what you’re talking about, but am guessing it’s fitted on vehicles with climate control to keep the coolant flowing. These setups only flow the heated coolant in to the heat exchanger when required, where as non-climate control equipped vehicles have the coolant running through the core all the time and the air-flow is modulated instead.

....if that makes any sense

Hmmm very technical TAB. Great reply, don't really understand it but still a great reply...

Ok - mine does not have climate control...does that make any difference.

Reason I ask is because I have installed the pole position kit and didn't put the small connecting hose back on.....

I'd put it back in.. It allows coolant to bypass when the heater tap is shut when you have the temp position on cold...

btw, I'm assuming their is a heater tap behind the dash. as I've seen on many heater systems..
