Hi, I have eventually decided to post. I am getting a new FG XR6T ZF Box c/w Luxpack, tech pack this week, after waiting a LONG 16 weeks from date of order. I intend to replace the sound system with new speakers, amps etc. The technical side of doing it is not hard for me as I did it in my BA II XR6T. using line converters. My problem is that I cannot see how the door trims come off as thay have no obvious screws, or covers hiding screws. the rear doors seem to have a screw behind the handle and at the top rear, but the front is a mystery. Before I ruin it, is there anyone who can advice. I did see some photos on another post where the customer was having his trim updated, but they weren't all that clear.

Just had a quick look at mine this arvo and there seems to be two screws at the bottom of each front door but other than that I'm stumped. I tried pulling at a few bits but nothing wanted to give. Don't really want to snap anything off either. Gotta get my windows tinted soon so I'll ask the guys how they come off.

Benny

Ok here are some tips on how to remove the FG door trims.

Front:- There are 5 screws in total.

Two that are behind the plastic cover indicated by the arrow in pic 3. This is a difficult piece to remove and you need to start from the forward most point with a thin tool to get in behind it and move towards the back. Once this is popped out you need to slide it towards the rear of the car to take off.

Two on the bottom of the door trim. Very easy to remove.

One in the bottom of the finger slot shown in pic 2. You need to lift up the rubber flap to see the screw. Once the screw is removed you then need to pull up on this finger pocket and it will come free, seperate from the door trim. This must be done or the trim will not come off.

Once these steps are done you have to run your hands around the outer edges of the trim popping the plastic clips holding it in place.

Rear Door:- 5 screws again in total.

Two at the bottom of door just like the above.

One on the rear most edge of door trim.

One in the bottom of the finger slot. Follow instructions above to remove finger pocket.

One behind small plastic cap in the door release as shown in pic 1.

Then as above run fingers around trim to pop plastic clips to remove.

Obviously to refit trims do the reverse steps above.

Hope this is usefull.

Benny.

Took the door trims off to change the speakers with Alpine units I had in stock. Not sure if the mistery of where all the speakers were in the FG was solved but each speaker in the doors has a small tweeter in the middle. So when counting them all up there are 11 speakers.
