The iPhone has been out a couple of days now and I figure there must be a few people on here that have one.

What do you think of it?

I haven't upgraded my phone for 3 or 4 years now and I'm considering an iPhone but the lack of MMS and video recording is a big turn off.

From what I've read there are 3rd party applications that allow these features to work but the iPhone has to be "jailbroken" which I guess means hacked or unlocked. Whatever it is it's not official and I'm sure would mean you'd kiss your warranty goodbye.

I'm just surprised that something that's supposed to be the next big thing is lacking features that the most basic mobiles have these days.

Apart from a snazzy user interface - I dont see anything that it does that isnt already offered with a HTC touch or some of the other PDA phones that have been out for years.

I was in the market for a new fone aswell. Looked at the iphone too, and wasnt impressed. Meant to be the latest thing, and only came with a 2mp camera and didnt have video.. Which what I would consider basic features on any other phone, plus every man and his dog would have one when I comes out (if supply could meet demand) Arent they also like $400 -$500 in the USA and given the exchange rate why is it going for $700+ outright?? I know some other factors come into it but really...

I ended up going for Sony Erricssons 'answer' for the iphone, the W960i. It has a 8gig memory, 3.2mp camera with video, is also touch screen but also has buttons. Comes with a stylus to make it easier to navigate, and also allows you to write a message not just punch in letters

Also looks hotter, and exclusive which I like too.. My old fone only one other person that I saw had it...

I wasn't aware that it didn't have video capability! Pfft, you can keep that then. I got the LG U990 with touch screen, 5mp camera with zoom, wap, expandable memory etc etc - does the job for me...

I think they are about 2 years behind the likes of the Nokia N95, Sony 960 and the HTC Diamond and touch Pro.

You need to work out what features are important to you in a phone.

I prefer Windows Mobile 6 based phones, so the HTC IMHO are the best on the market. I have a TYTN2, the wife has a Touch Duo and all my staff have TYTN1.

I will be upgrading once the Touch Pro is available.
