Expert it may be but I still don't know which size to get! I emailed them last night but no response yet. Ralph says all sumps should be the same on b series so it's probably the F107... Might have to suck it and see, he's usually right anyway!

Got this email just now. I'll know soon!

Hi Steve,

Im not 100% certain on your XR6. It will be one of two valves F-109 (12mm x 1.5) or F-107 (12mm x 1.75). The F-107 has a slightly coarser thread pitch. 4.0L 6cyl Falcons have been one or the other. I could send you both and a return bag, so you can send back the one that doesnt fit. I will refund the cost of the valve to your credit card when I receive it back. How does that sound?

Regards,

Jack

Happy days.

:mexicanwave:

His email suggests that he doesn't have much confidence, obviously has happened to a few people in the past.

If only I could remove the sump plug and check, but I've only just changed the oil and it would all drain by the time I manage to measure the threads!

Will advise my findings next week. Might try to collect used oil in a clean container and swap out plugs real quick like.

If you equipped with Ninja skillz like me you'd be able to wipe out the sump plug and block the hole with a finger (helps to be half dutch for that one) and then measure the thread.

Or you could do what I've done and ask another member who may/may not have a spare sump to measure the thread?
