When tightening the nuts up I found they only came loose within half an hour of driving around.

I put a couple screw washers in between the chasis mount/nut.

So far theres no noise, but sometimes can feel the slack that's there (particularly on the right side)

Has anyone had this problem before and had theyr chasis rail re-bored to accommodate a larger bolt?

I've had a few pm's about this problem. Must be common.

My ute has become worse and worse, come to a point where I don't like driving the bloddy thing lol.

Anyways I've got a bit of an update on this...

Since I last posted I've had my diff replaced under warranty.

I went and saw Nathan at Advantage in Moorabbin today. He looked at the ute and diagnosed not just the problem with the front mounts which are going to need to be replaced and re-welded in but a few other things...

When FORD's pack of retards replaced the diff they didn't locate it properly and to my shock, the diff is sitting about an inch to the left. Now that I've got some wide wheels you can really tell the variance going by the guards.

He also thinks its a possibility that the suspension shop that originally lowered my car used the wrong rear leafs (I'm not too knowledgable on what the part number is... I find this strange because they were kings replacement leafs... maybe for an earlier falcon??) The rear wheels are sitting too far forward than what they should. - Which is why theres excess stress on the front mounts.

I'm booked in Friday to sort it all out. Will let give you an update on the weekend.

have you got any pics of how the wheels sit in relation to the guard? I've noticed that my rears sit well forward in the gaurd rather than centered, but I just thought that it was how they all are????

a common cause of the creaking other than this, is the nuts on the big "U" Bolts over the diff work loose..

I got under the hoist at my mechanics with a strong-arm and got about 3/4 of a turn on each one.

It stopped my creaking rear end straight away.

Checked the part number for the king leafs. Part number is "FOR801" Which was correct.

Think nathan was over analysing things a bit too much.

Apparently the U bolts were missing a spacer which emphasised the creak more - also caused them to come loose. He also did a few things to the front mounts wasn't quite sure what, but next time I get under the car I'll sus it out.

All I know... my car is FINALLY normal again :bowdown:
