Hey guys,

I am only on apprentice wages so I have to do my car in stages. And I keep reading that basically the best results and 1st mods should be exhaust and intake. I have a f6 Cai and k&n and thinking of getting exhaust next. I've decided to get a Ces dump/cat and join to factory twin system after cat. Oh and removed my centre muffler.

Would I need a tune after that or will it be fine???

Just also in the future I am going to get a v3 rapid cooler set-up and injectors but I dont know if I could do a exhaust and then wait to do a big hit with cooler, injectors and flash when I am on good money in 4 months.

Cheers

Yes you will need the car retuned.

I think you are getting ahead of yourself with the exhaust as the stock one will support 300ish rwkw, its best to start with the edit and go from there.

true.

I am probably looking at taking 1 chunk out because I recon bit of a waste of money for tune just stock.

so should I go injectors and tuner cause deal on ebay for 1100 for inj+flash1 or like 1300 for inj+flash2 which I think is alright. Plus its about $400 mark for a tune yay/nay?

Cheers, I am pritty bad mechanically, I can build a house though.haha

Why don't you just get a flash tuner off ebay and run one of the prepackaged tunes? I've seen flash tuners on ebay going for about $350-$500. And get your injectors seperately too. Will be cheaper than $1100-1300 for sure

If $$ are tight mate, just get the edit box with generic tunes already in it. These go for $600ish and although its still the stock car, it will pick up around 30-40 wkws which is a big jump from factory, so you'll have a big smile straight away.

Get some more $$ together and buy injectors, you'll need to get a custom tune to run with these, so its your next major $$ step.

Usually, at this stage guys start to collect other go fast parts, like the exhaust your thinking of, intercoolers, intakes ect... with all these you need to get a tune done each time, so it makes sense to get them all fitted and tuned at the same time.

As mentioned above, the stock exhaust is good for 300wkw when fitted with a better flowing cat, and you can remove/change mufflers to beef up the note.

But I keep reading that these generic tunes are no good for the car. I have thought about doing that but after alot of posts majority say not to. Plus I can afford the injectors/flash and tune so should I do that now as you say its my next $$step.

generics are ok on a stock car ,it is good to run it on a dyno to just check to be safe

but if you can afford the injecters and tune that would be the way to go ,that should see you jumo 50rwkw wich is a good start

Your in the same position as me. It's not much more to buy injectors etc for more power. But once you have the power your after your going to need a new clutch which isn't cheap. Just remember to keep money aside for a clutch
