Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 03/07/08 10:40 AM Share Posted 03/07/08 10:40 AM To re set springs will cost about $70-$75 a pair. My springs are a linear rate coil, with a free height of 350mm, I had a 20mm spacer fitted to my Bilsteins after I measured what length I needed to keep them captive and they are nice and firm.. Expect to pay around $500-$600 for the Bilsteins but you will need them, otherwise you will be in the sh*t with your insurance if anything ever goes wrong, a small price to way when you think about it. Doing things properly don't come cheap...

Guest EGOXRT Guests Posted 03/07/08 10:55 AM Share Posted 03/07/08 10:55 AM Because the Bilsteins are serviceable, they can place a travel limiting spacer in the shock to effectively shorten it's travel. The shocks are what keep the springs captive, the less extension, the shorter the "space" is where the spring mounts.Kings are actually a little easier to keep captive as they are a variable rate, they have a slightly longer free length to start with. There is a limit to how far you can go though, because the more you limit the travel, the more you shorten the stroke and eventually they will not have enough travel. You must do some measurements... Just be careful hitting pot holes, speed humps etc this tends to cause them to fall out.Good luck T6XR-ROB
