Well guys, took my T to my mechanics yesterday telling him something dont feel and sound right........Got a phone call this morning and was told that my auto is knackered. Looks like a rebuild- strenthend, converter , put in and out for $4240. Damn didnt expect that kind of $$$$$. Rang the missus at work and NOT HAPPY JANE!!!!!!

Does this kind of $$$$$ sound reasonable? This is a bill I wasnt really ready for.

Any feed back would be appreciated-thanks guys

T6XR-Rob. :verysad:

I would want a list of this ,strengthening and what he uses

Nizpro know the sh*t when it comes to these cars and my build from them was only $2300, plus a few hundred at my mechanics for remove and fit

It tends to get expensive if the planetary gears also need replacing. Check to see if your mechanic is replacing them and if he is, make sure he replaces them with the AU or EB V8 planetary gears.

Edit :

If its not too late, Jut get it towed no Nizpro m8 they know their stuff like 0ur6t also said and are very well priced too. :verysad:

the price sounds right but make sure tehy know what they are doing!!! as you can build these boxs the right way or you can build them like most people do.

I have seen these autos get $3000 on them and they blow 6 months later due to the wrong parts being used.

so make sure they get it right.

by the looks of it Nizpro know what to do. but I am sure your guy has some idea just ask him the right questions

Thought so. Think of it this way mate.

Some guys have smashed their [stock] planetary gears after the rebuilds so I guess its not a bad thing to get the works done altogether now which will save you time and money down the track. :pooh:

IMO way to much coin for an auto.

Do you know what size converter your getting and who is building the box, the reason I ask my mate took his box to an auto guy that said it was the strongest he could make it.

2 weeks later it was fcked, my point is only take it to place that knows these autos.

Nizpro (mine got done there)

bayswater.

kiwish.

if its none of those I would be sus, but that's just me :spoton:

Ahh yeah.... Good old Danny. Is he the one with he Brown XF?

If yes, I have dealt with him several times in the past and can only praise his work. I didnt' t know about him rebuilding auto's however he has re-tuned my car in the past and I was overly pleased with the results. I know he does gas conversion's and good on him for rebuilding autos now.

All the best mate. Im sure you'll be happy with the outcome. :spoton:
