KAZ68U Member 37 Member For: 19y 3m 25d Posted 01/07/08 01:32 AM Share Posted 01/07/08 01:32 AM Hey Guys,Just have a quick question regarding the lower half of the inlet manifold...Is the ba manifold the same as el,au ? in the lower section?Just had a rough looksee at it and remember working on one much the same years ago but it was the el and au falcons.Reason im asking is I have a custom inlet job im doing atm but the customer has requested that he wants the stock manifold intact for when he sells the car he can simply unbolt the alloy plenum and fit the stock one in place no fuss which is understandable.Id just like to know if the manifolds are the same in the lower section so I can source one locally to use for the job and seeing as though not many places have ba gear laying around locally and after looking at it I was like ok well what if I get an au one or even an el one come to think of it.Any suggestions here before I ring this guy back and tell him no can do would be great.I look forward to hearing back from some guys who know this as a fact Cheers guys Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You can run a top half style plenum and they are interchangable, as can be seen by the miriad of earlier falcons running a nizpro intake, but can't use the lower runners from an earlier model.Regards........................6BOOST Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
KAZ68U Member 37 Member For: 19y 3m 25d Posted 01/07/08 06:28 AM Author Share Posted 01/07/08 06:28 AM Ahh cheers for the insight kyle much appreciated mate it was the same info I got from another guy locally but 2/2 you carnt beat that for confidence FACTOR.Should have just called and asked haha.Customer was happy to source a new bottom in time after I called him and told him the news about it.Always good to find a person that knows what there on about.I will throw a few pics of the fabrication and finished product when im done.Tried to knock a fair bit of it over today but these fords are fiddly little critters I tell you with all the wiring etc when your trying to remove the entire inlet manifold.Im stuck on if to cut the crank sensor plug off and re solder it on or to loosen the air conditioning compressor to squeeze the plug through as its all that stopped me from removing the inlet this arvo again friggin fiddly wiring!!!If anyones got any ideas apart from the above or knowledge that it will actually slide through with some patience that would also be handy help at this stage.cheers again mateWayne Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
