I bet all the GM lads will be chanting "No replacement for Displacement" haha

They proved it. And so do top fuellers.

The GTR times was set on a damp track, so the times are not the best effort for the GTR.

While the ZR1 is a quick car, it is not a daily road car.

Thanks for the weather report.

The GTR got beat Zappers, let it go.

yes, its the full circuit.

The GT-R was on R compounds, The Chev on street tyres. So the ZR1 on R tyres will still be close to the V Spec.

I would take the Chev if given the choice.

Wikipedia says there is a shorter grand prix circuit as well.

I.B.

I believe there is an old and new nurburgring, new is an actual GP track while old is the long one used for these manufactured tests, the one anyone can drive on in their own car, the famous one.

Didn't they say that 2 corners were a little damp? if so that means nothing.

Why isn't the ZR1 a daily road car? I'm sure plenty of owners will use them for that, and I'll bet they don't need the engine rebuilt every 12 months like the GTR's require, nor will they need the fluids changed by Nissan at the owners expense every time it see's the track and its recorded by the GPS unit, or they will cancel the warranty.

If anything the ZR1 is closer to a usable every day car than the GTR is. The GTR needs a maintenance schedule just like a race car which makes it a total wank of a car. Seems like they were so hell bent on beating the 911 Turbo they went to extremes to do it. I mean a rebuild every 12 months to respray the plasma coated bores. What a joke.

This has been a little miss reporting so I believe, there is talk of every 100,000 kms for the bores and there is also some talk around that a non offical lap time of 7.21 has been set with a proto type V spec already but until the specs are confirmed it is not a factory road car. This version was aroud the 420 kw mark
