Can u not wait a few months and try save up a bit of money to put toward the FG F6?

If you get something else your always gonna have that 'what if' question in the back of your mind.

No matter which way you go, there both going to lose big money over time.I say go the FG as the BF is now the old model.Watch BA/BF resale suffer as there will be an abundance of XR6T/F6 fords on the market and a limited market buying them.I think alot of people now are watching there money big time.

My 2 cents.

Thanks for all your input guys. I'll go away and do some numbers with a few dealers and see what we come up with. I havent had the opportunity to drive the FG Turbo yet, so might try and get a run in one this w/end. Might help me make a decision... although at the moment I think Im heading toward the R-Spec. Thanks again.

I disagree as I would go the FG

So would l. Read this month in either Wheels or Motor one of the Jurnos stating they thought the FG XR6T was a better car than the BF FPV F6, that's high praise Try and drive both because until you do all you have is opinions.

Cheers,

mondie

The latest wheels bleats about turbo issues and then says they got the same times out of the auto BF Phoon than what the manual F6FG Phoon can manage. The Motor Mag is very careful to make sure they don't trash the Expensive Daewoo too much and don't praise the ford too much, actually they both are. Motoring Mags. Pwha :innocent:

Whatever way you go your going to lose money in the end. Really you have to decide if you want the last of the superceeded model or the 1st of the new model. The BF was a better car than the BA. Rather have an FPV than an XR6 Turbo.

Maybe you can save a bit longer and get a series 2 FGPhoon if you can stand the look of it. Must say the FG looks much better in red IMHO.

That was supercar driver Warren Luff which stated the FG XR6T is much better than a FPV BF Typhoon in the latest Motor magazine!!!

He's certainly no Jurno and his only dislike was the FG XRT's brakes. :spoton:

It's a hard choice. I think the FG is the better car, the BF is older technology, but the FG XR6T looks plain compared to the FPV stuff.

Well that's the other option... I could sit it out for another 12+ months and hopefullly (given the current economic climate) I'll have enough coin to pick up an FG F6. My only fear was that if I do wait, then find that I cant afford/dont want an FG, all the new R-Spec will be long gone.

Go the FG.

No matter how you look at it, the BF's are the outgoing model, won't be worth as much, and you'll kick yourself that you missed out on the latest and greatest.

If the FG was only a minor upgrade, I'd say get the BF, but the FGs are just too good.

One of the gys I work with is in the same boat as you, he's found he can get a BF Phoon in an colour, and the dealers are desperate to get rid of them (he's been offered as low as $51k for a BF F6 with leather, sat nav, etc). In the end, he's decided to go for an FG because he knows he'll feel like he settled for 2nd best.
