Guest P'cisT Guests Posted 19/07/03 10:19 AM Share Posted 19/07/03 10:19 AM I still have yet to get my car, but from this forums (and others), I have discovered there is quite a few 'non-standard' options that were not outlined in the Ford brochures as XR options. Most of these are genuine parts that were made especially for the Fairmont, but easily fits the XR range.I've decided to make a list:Lighted Switches for Power WindowsDoorwell GlobesCentre Console Analog ClockUpper Boot Carpet TrimRear Number Plate Chrome TrimChrome PinstripingAll of these I believe can be brought from a Ford dealership or somewhere similar.I will add part numbers, prices and links to pics later, but is there any more? For example the pin striping will cost you around $120 for each pinstripe for front and rear if you buy it from Ford. Things you might not be able to do include the clock on the dash, and the door lights!

Guest BA Ghia Guests Posted 19/10/03 11:07 AM Share Posted 19/10/03 11:07 AM As for the Clock.......I have already pulled mine off and you will find that the plug is EXACTLY the same as the Audio connectors that they sell for Sound cards on P.C.s(The Cable that connects the CD-Rom Audio Output to the Sound Card)...I remember seeing information on the web somewhere that had pictures of the plug, the wire colours, and where to hook these wires up....Cant remember exactly, but its definitely out there somewhere.Ill try hunting the website down for you. Guest BA Ghia Guests Posted 19/10/03 11:15 AM Share Posted 19/10/03 11:15 AM I just had a quick search on Google, and found this at www.fordmods.comhttp://forums.fordmods.com/phpBB2/documents.php?doc=53Have a look at the second picture on the page, it shows the Audio connector thingy that I was talking about earlier....You can get them from computer shops for a couple of dollars. The page also has information on how to remove the instrument cluster, and wire up power and Illumination to the Instrument cluster wiring loom.Looks pretty easy to do yourself if you wanted to give it a try
