Guest rabbit Guests Posted 18/07/03 11:37 AM Share Posted 18/07/03 11:37 AM Am I the only one having problems with the auto trans in my BA XR6 (non-turbo, 2,500kms)? The shifts both up and down seem to be really rough, and sometimes searching for the right gear. In particular, when kicking down to 2nd gear in normal driving.Ford says they can't see any problem with it and it may need more wearing in.Interested to hear others experiences. I had a similar problem on a previous ford, only happened when cold, after 3 service calls with "no problem found", I finally insisted that the car be left over night at the service centre and I took the senior mechanic and the service manager for a drive next morning. Within 30 seconds of driving they had diagnosed the problem, a "sticky solenoid" in the transmission. Fixed and no repeat. Also, dynosteve, is this how u launch urs at the drags?
