hilux all the way, had one gave it hell the whole time and it NEVER missed a beat.... besides clarkson couldn't even break one :pooh: mine was 2.7 petrol, and if it wasn't for the thing "falling over 3 times in a row" I would never have got rid of it.... I looked at the tritons and to be honest. I can't stand them...

Triton has the turning circle of a large bus. In the 4 cyl class they are much of a muchness to drive, although for the same cash the Ranger is far better spec'd, more comfortable and I would choose the Ranger any day over the Triton or Hilux if you were in that price bracket. If looking at a Diesel you can't go past the Hilux, had an extended drive in a Triton the other day :pooh:

I would choose a Hilux over the Triton, though in that price braket Ranger.

well it has to have a better turning circle than the XR

im only looking at petrol, just the bottom end ones.

your right, the ranger is better spec'd for sure, well better engine anyways, but im not giving ford my business after they wont fix a fault that's clearly theirs. I dont care how good it is.

end of the day, a radiator and their labor on my car would have cost them maybe $400 max at cost, and they arnt going to fix it because its out of warranty, even though they did they heater core under the same scenario, and its all the cooling system, which didnt corrode in one night. 66,000kms on this vehicle.

here I am slagging them off, how much is the $400 repair worth now to them?

I was telling the mechanic at fraud what the fault was and I said its out of warranty but im not interested in paying for it, and he laughed at me, then I said "its got 66k's on it" and he shut the f*ck up then.

that's surfside ford at miami on the gold coast, everybody (hi surfside ford - you dicks!) oh, and I guess you loose our next fleet purchase too.

ok fair enough, but the ranger is a f***n ugly ute anyway.

Triton's are one ugly ute if you ask me.

My brother is a plumber and between him and his work mates they've had 6 Hilux's over the last 3 years and they all haven't missed a beat.

I've driven it a fair bit and they'e a nice tradies ute. A/C and heater work really well. MP3 stereo doesn't hurt either.

If that's the case get a turbo diesel Hilux, Triton feels very cheap and the 4cyls are just rubbish. Or better yet buy a Mazda Bravo, same car as a Ranger, they have alloys on them atm and you wont be giving your money to Ford.

I currently have both a Ford Ranger diesel and Mitsu Triton V6 on the farm. The Ranger has done 43,000 ks in a year and is great to drive - and cheap to run - and good build quality. The Triton is nowhere near as good.

Ive also had Hilux before and driven the latest - but right now Ranger wins the race.. by a country mile..

Cheers

Don't let your gripe with a dealership service dept ruin what you drive next dude, the turning circle on a hilux is actually worse than a Falcon ute, it has more turns lock to lock too...

last time I looked in any industry a warranty period is set and if a fault happens outside of warranty then its bad luck, if every manufacturer had lifetime warranty then all car makers would be out of business lol and we would all be riding pushies hahaha

oh and I had the current model hilux flat tray SR, auto V6, as a work bus and while the build quality and engine and gearbox are absolutely awesome for this kind of vehicle the thing didnt like trying to stop or going round corners and it was soooo stiff in suspension it was a bounce-athon. our old 2000 courier drove heaps better, was just gutless :)

ford have out of warranty problems sorted all the time, I already had a cooling system problem (major) fixed outside warranty, few months later this happens.

they have an out of warranty repair thing, radiator should be lasting 10 years by normal standards at least. and as I said to ford, the thing didnt corrode in one night.
