hey guys,

sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and wasnt able to find all the information that I needed.

I have a TT,

im looking at getting the 2nd f6 cai mod done, does anyone know where I might be able to get this(already precut) in melbourne?

im also going to replace the air filter, to a k&n flat panel, few questions in regards to this,

will the k&n flat panel fit both my existing box as well as the f6 box or are they different sizes?

if they are the same size, then what is the part number for the k&n filter that I need?

thanks guys

anthony

Anthony, did you get my last PM, as it had this info in it?

I bought the bottom half of the box, along with the snorkel off Ebay for $160-$180ish, but would be happy to sell it to you cheaper, as my TT is back to the 6psi tune at the moment, so I don't really need it. If/when I take the next step, I'll probably opt for a pod and custom box, so I won't need this any longer. It's a great mod to keep everything looking factory.

You can get a K&N to fit perfectl - just take yours out and match it up at Autobarn if you want to be extra sure. Not sure about the part number, but if you tell them it's for an XR6 turbo box, they'll know.

Hope that helps. Shoot me a message if you want the box at mates rates.

Pretty much as has been stated above, the air filter is the same part as per all Falcons models since BA, I don't think they list a separate one for the Territory. As a matter of interest we found zero measurable power increase running a KN filter and F6 secondary intake on the dyno on the standard tune. However when you turn up the wick the extra air capacity offered by the F6 mod does make a difference. As for the KN filters I'm not actually a fan but each to their own on that one.

For the record the F6 mod is not a CAI as such, it sucks hot air from the engine bay as the snorkel has to be installed upside down in the Terry but it does offer the increased air supply that the turbo engine needs once you up the power.

How far in from the headlight does the snorkel sit when fitted to a Territory? On the sedans the snorkel sits flush under the headlight and gets air directly in behind the bumper, but from looking at it on the Territory the airbox sits a lot further back in the engine bay. Will the snorkel not even fit if it's fitted the conventional way? I wasn't sure whether I would fit the snorkel myself by cutting the airbox or get it done when I get all my other mods all at once. Either way it's good info to know.

It will only fit in the terry upside down, so it faces up and draws air from the engine bay not from behind the headlight like it does in the Falcon.

The snorkel I got is the same shape/size as the phoon, but obviously has been developed to draw air exactly like the phoon - from behind the light. Never thought they were different, but the mob I bought the kit off must have manufactured special ones for the TT, I guess.

Fits like a glove and looks factory, so I have no idea how the phoon one would end up drawing from the engine bay.

hey guys,

I put the k&n air filter in today,

took a few pics,

just quickly, is the air filter meant to stay attatched in the lid of the airbox or is it ok if it sits at the bottom of the box? the k&n doesnt seem to stay in the lid like the factory one does

cheers
