Your graphs don't show how it builds up, it just starts at about 18psi. I'd figure at 75kmh in third gear the RPM would be around 2000rpm, and I've never seen full boost that low before. What's the trick ?? It is just done with a heap of advance?CheersRobin. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Which is fairly typical.One reason why it ramps boost in so hard is because it holds the wastegate shut until the last minute (wastegate duty 1.0 = wastegate shut)This is one of the major benefits of running in closed loop boost control.. The PCM does most of it for you.Although this tune's boost curve does not look perfectly flat on the dyno (it overshoots boost at 3600->3900rpm and then ossilates a little, hense the -2.2 in the boost error being overboost), and then drops off a little. In First gear on the street, it actually needs more duty cycle around that point to bring boost up in first. So coming on boost, it has that extra bit of duty cycle to bring it up in first gear, and when it shifts, the revs only drop to about 4500rpm, where its pretty much running in closed loop to keep it flat.Time (sec) AIR_CHARGE_TEMP BOOST_DESIRED BOOST_ERROR LOAD RPM TP_RELATIVE WASTEGATE_DC72.8 76.5 28.9 0.0 0.76 2280 212 1.0000073.1 76.5 30.6 0.0 0.90 2518 422 1.0000073.5 76.5 32.0 9.6 1.12 2892 570 1.0000073.8 76.4 32.2 15.5 1.39 3082 570 1.0000074.1 76.4 32.9 5.8 1.78 3299 570 0.7703674.4 76.3 34.3 -2.0 2.16 3671 570 0.4975674.8 76.3 35.6 -2.2 2.26 3925 570 0.4775875.1 76.2 35.8 -0.1 2.19 3939 570 0.5023175.4 76.2 35.9 0.4 2.18 3988 570 0.5032775.7 76.1 36.0 0.9 2.20 4047 570 0.5119476.1 76.0 36.0 1.1 2.20 4095 570 0.5309376.4 76.0 36.0 1.0 2.23 4169 570 0.5501876.7 75.9 36.0 0.7 2.25 4268 570 0.5676577.1 75.8 36.0 0.4 2.27 4370 570 0.5847177.4 75.8 36.0 0.7 2.29 4456 571 0.6040977.6 75.9 36.0 0.5 2.32 4547 571 0.6246977.9 75.9 36.0 -0.2 2.35 4631 571 0.6426478.2 76.0 36.0 -0.9 2.38 4718 571 0.6576978.6 76.2 36.0 -1.4 2.39 4798 571 0.6873178.9 76.5 36.0 -1.9 2.39 4878 571 0.7221679.3 76.8 36.0 -2.0 2.40 4980 571 0.7302379.6 77.2 36.1 -1.5 2.38 5101 571 0.7601179.9 77.7 36.3 -0.6 2.34 5197 571 0.8190380.2 78.2 36.5 0.8 2.32 5300 571 0.8586880.5 78.8 36.7 1.4 2.30 5411 571 0.8909380.8 79.8 36.9 0.8 2.30 5480 571 0.9147681.1 80.6 37.1 0.6 2.30 5549 571 0.9184381.5 81.4 37.3 1.0 2.25 5661 571 0.9134581.8 82.7 37.5 0.8 2.22 5779 571 0.9112782.2 83.8 37.7 0.5 2.21 5839 571 0.9010282.5 84.9 37.8 0.0 2.20 5897 571 0.8919082.8 86.1 37.9 -1.0 2.21 5940 285 0.8967383.1 87.2 37.3 -0.6 1.27 5484 0 0.7670383.4 88.9 36.3 0.0 0.28 4597 0 0.58336 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fat-Tony Member 5,364 Member For: 18y 8m 25d Posted 26/06/08 12:18 AM Share Posted 26/06/08 12:18 AM What the interesting part is now how much more duty you had to run to get 18psi compared to 15psi, I recall you telling me that you had it at 0.2 duty or there abouts for most of the way to command 15psi. Although one point to notice is the charge air temps, at the start of the run is 24.7 deg C and at the end of the run its climbed up to just over 30deg C. That is less than a 6 deg increase in charge air temps over a power run at 18psi. More to the point it shows that this power can be made consistently and without stupidly high intake charge temps the motor is far less prone to rod destroying detonation.
