Hey all,

Sorry for the first noob question, new to the site as I've only bought my first biggish turbo car, always have driven small/medium jap cars. Dealer tells me yesterday that my car's in today and should be ready early next week (then organised the 5th dimension protection pack yesterday as well so probably mid-next week).

Are there any particulars I need to specifically look out for?

Apart from the usual, dints, scratches.. I know about the speaker issue (advertised as 8 speakers yet only 6 physical).

Any other hints / tips?

This is what I bought btw:

Ford XR6T - Ego

ZF6 Auto

Luxury Pack

Protection pack (leather, paint protection, tinting etc)

XR carpets

Thanks

Koj

Check the paint! I and many others have had dust/dirt/other colours under the clear coat!

Check the leather for scratches, as with the rims.

When u pick her up, make sure you check it before you sign the delivery docket/form! I have seen (as I was once a car saleman) the sneeky bastards (PAT is the exception) try and get you in to the office to sign before you see it. This paper, if taken to the word, will void any claims you can make on pre delivery issues, if the dealer wants to be an a.rsehole.

Real scenario, that was tried on me!

"G'day Marcus, excited I bet!"

"Your not wrong mate"

"It's just being brought round the front now, lets go and tidy up the paperwork, so you can just get in and drive away, I bet you've had a sleepless night!"

I followed and read the fine print! Along the lines of By signing this form, you accept the vehicle in the presented state Once I read that, I said, " We will wait till I go over it."

Well I did, and 6 panels needed a respray, the tint was bubbled and a couple of other things I can't recall.

And check the odometer....any more than a few km's and have a massive tantrum and demand some freebies :riaa:

The speaker issue is just a bit of deceptive marketing, not really anything you can do about that.

Is it too late to cancel the protection pack - fair chance you're getting ripped blind by that :stirthepot:

Thanks for the praise Marcus! lol

Koj, as the guys have said check out the panels, definately check the trim inside, any scratches underneath the front bar (very easy to scrape on drive ways). One thing that isn't too major, but we have noticed a little sticker between the handbrake boot and the gearshift surround, its clear and tricky to get at, so it wouldn't suprise me if alot of detailing depts were missing it!

Either way mate, enjoy the new car and :welcome2:
