What ratios do both boxes have?

What RPM does the 6 speed have at 100km/h.

How much would I be looking at to convert to 6 speed manual from 5 speed manual?

Are the only changes from the engine back to driveshaft or is there wiring issues etc...

Just a bit more brief information:

T5 ratios are 2.95, 1.94, 1.34, 1, 0.73 to 1

T56 ratio are 2.66, 1.78, 1.3, 1, 0.8, 0.62 to 1

As a guide, at 100 kph (keeping your BA diff ratio of 3.45)

T5:

2870 rpm in 4th

2100 rpm in 5th

T56:

2870 rpm in 4th

2300 rpm in 5th

1780 rpm in 6th ... should give better cruising economy

BCL said keeping the 3.45 BA series 1 ratio.

BA MK2 has 3.7...:1 which sits pretty much smack bang on 2000rpm.

I have a spreadsheet where I can calculate revs for a speed input for any gearbox(auto and manual)/diff combination, and also speed for a rev input for any gearbox/diff combination.

My quoted rev/speed should be accurate to around 4%, as it depends on tyres used and tyre wear.

Also, what your speedo reads is not necessarily accurate either, if you check it against a gps. A speedo is more likely be conservative on speed display.

My speadsheet derives 1920rpm for 6th speed (0.62 ratio) at 100kph. If you say you see 2000rpm that is close enough to being acceptable for the purposes of illustration.
