well, end up just getting a new factory Ford tail shaft and stop using the hand brake to lauch the car at the drags.

Fark ... how much did Fraud sting you $$$ you a new genuine one?

Thought Hardy Spicer Driveline & Hydraulic Services would have been able to make you a stronger one cheaper than the price a new genuine Ford tail shaft?

Yes the 4:1 reduction 1st gear in the ZF can test the tailshaft

was $1600, it was a case of didn't wan to take the chance of getting a costom one made and have it vibrate at odd rpm's or speeds. the Ford one is up to the task..............just can't abuse it , like anything I guess.

$1600 ... fark Fraud know how to charge!!!!!!!

Have had Hardy Spicer Driveline in Makay make several custom thicker walled driveshafts for Cars and farm/earth moving equip over the years ... all ordered via the phone and never a single issue. They are the northern most Hardy Spicer dealer in Qld apparently.

Anyways ... sounds like you've had your fill of drag racing?

Cheers

nah not quite, still have my own little goal of 10.9 to achieve, have to sit down with Dave and work out which is the best way to go about it. Also need to save up a little cash before the next time I run, in case the something lets go again.

Well Dave worked a little magic for me and managed to squeeze a little more out of the car to the tune of 388rwkw on BP98 fuel. So back out to the strip and ran an 11.2@124mph. Car feels alot stonger through the 60ft, got a 1.73 so moving closer to the 10's. (also I need a bit more practice at lauching )

Best part was I got to drive it home time........not follow it while its on a tilt tray.
