few things to look at

1st extend the muffler past the back pnaels of the car this will make a difference to droning

2nd make sure they haven't fixed the exhaust with hard bracket mountings to the car.

3rd did they uses canon's or oval mufflers ovals will always be much less droney something to do which souns waves and not bouncing arouns as much as in a circle.

4th you could wrap some of the exhaust to quiten it down, a lot of car wrap the exhausts to keep the db's down

that's part of the BMW water storage unit haha,

Concerning the down pipe dumpers, a friend went a week with two down dumpers out of 2 1/2" pipes on his VZ maloo, it was so droney that at certain revs the cabin would vibrate it was painful. yer stay away from down dump pipes ESPECIALLY if its dumping underneath the car and not at the end like a conventional exhaust system.
