It is a ripper power curve isn't it? there is a huge powerband for sure, climbs up high very quickly and just stays there.

I know it will be heaps faster down the track , I won't say what I am hoping for as I could jinx myself. You should come up to Heathcote, Dave is going race for the first time.

Thanks for the welcome, and I have not come across another site where the people are as welcoming and knowledgeable about the machinary they drive as this one.

I have read that much on the site about T's and the mods that can be done that you get to th epoint that you don't know whether to buy a BA or BF, Mk1 or Mk2, or do I spend another $1000 on the Bike and curl up in the corner to have a think!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't BA's and BF's produce roughly the same KW's standard?

If they do, given that it will take more mods to get the same performance from a BA as what you have acheived with your BF, are you just better off spending a bit more and buying a BF from the get go?

Yeah standard they do, rated at 240kw vs. 245kw (both at the flywheel)

But they were gradually strengthened throughout the models up to the point that the later model BF mkI and mkII’s were basically the same spec as the typhoons.

So in a nutshell a BF mkII is a better starting point but it’s all relative. Your choice of transmission will also come in to play as well, but that’s best left for another thread....

Like it been said the BF is a better base, but the BA's are not exactly slow either.

A few more mods and Lion hunting won't be considered sport anymore. lol

I think my next mod will be slotted rotors and decent pads. I think I will have to put my factory rims back on as my 19" haven't got enough grip to hold it down now. At least until I get some new rims or new tyres for the old rims. It got a bit hairy out there tonight in the wet, maybe because I am not used to the power yet.

Well just got back from Heathcote, ran a new PB of

12.83@110.9mph 60ft=2.1165

Best 60 was 1.9487, but stuffed up on a gear change.

This was done in street trim except for MT Streets.

Previous PB stock with airbox on factory tyres was 13.62@104.19 60ft=2.128

Fantastic time with just a tune - well done! That's what I call bang for your buck!

Just for comparison, I recently ran consistent 12.7s at 112.5mph and 2.2 60fts with 262rwkw. However - I've got injectors + tune. I was initially disappointed with my rwkw, but happy with the times! Dunno if bigger injectors allows more torque to be dialled in down low????

Just got back from a country run today and got 9.4L/100km (measured). Gotta be happy with that!

Cheers mate, I think that we are fairly close, different tracks and conditions and different dynos.

Still getting used to the ZF box. I was changing a bit late and hitting the limiter.

Not sure what effect the bigger injectors would allow, maybe some more timing in the tune?
