I spoke to somebody last night, they told me they played a copied CD in the new SS commi. It stuffed up the stereo unit, after taking it back to the dealer were told that you can't play copied disks....

Have any of you guys played copied disks in the new XR???

Do they work?? My XR6T (on order) has got the standard audio. My daughter will be devistated if she can't play all her CD's (most are copies). we have the originals of course!

Yes .. and No... Ive played so many copied cd's in the car and they work fine.. on the other hand other copied cd's (certain ones) tend to skip or jump. Its a real pain in the ass. You remove the CD and put it in again and it works.. but ive only noticed the jumping with copied cds and not anything "original"

Thanks guys! At least they will play. As far as CD's jumping, I think it has a lot to do with the quality of the CDR's. I have some that were realy cheap, they jump in my AU3 XR but I payed a bit more for high quality ones & they are OK

I can sorta believe that the player may not recognise the "copied" disk but as far as "stuffing up" the stereo...I'm with dagabond on that one, get a second opinion 'cause I don't believe that for a second.

I've been driving a VY Late model camira with work, and it won't play a couple of tracks on my favourite "Flood" album (appologies to Kevin Bennet but it has been - well not sourced directly).

The same car, no problem on the directly sourced CD's.

Can't let it go - would rather whistle down the road in my ordered XR6 T!
