Whats Wrong?

hi

I got a 2003 XR6t 4 speed auto, has rapid cooler and generic 10pound flash tune

Give it to it in first its fine hold full boost and turns the tyres

Have it in 2nd at about 60 and stand on it boost comes on holds full boost for a bit the just dies off to like 5 pound and goes no where, try's to boost and sound like its compresser surging

have it in 3nd and stand on it holds full boost sweet and goes good no problems

What is going on?

Its fine in 1st and 3rd sh*t house in 2nd.

Any ideas?

torque limits in the transmision probably ,mine had a similar prob and it only did it in 2nd and 4th

try lockin it in 4th and loading it up see what happens

but don't fck with it to much you really need a custom tune if your running an aftermarket intercooler

she doesn't really need a tune not pinging or anything

You have a problem, you don't know what it is, it happens with the 10 lb generic tune in it, you've been told that it possibly might be a torque management problem, but you think you don't need a tune :fish:

These cars are pretty complex and tuning is not just about not pinging, there are lots of other things involved in tuning them.

Good luck in getting it sorted and dn't forget to report back to what fixed it :fish:

mate we try an be nice here , but either take the cooler off or get it f*ckin tuned

for a start a tune is the only thing that will fix the drama you have now ,not to mention the damage that could be done to the rest of the car you may not even hear a ping until it's to late

that's my piece ignore it if you want ,it's your car

on top of this you would be running a risky 250rwkw at the moment . get a custom tune and some injectors and you'll have 270-280 safe rwkw

yeah I ll be getting it tuned just waiting on a few thing like injectors,cat middle muffler removed etc

it been doing it since before the cooler anyway when I just had it flash tuned everything was stock

I was just curious cause I thought mine been something else that I might have to get fixed before tune
