I find your post quite comical Doc ... especially your statement " I just don't see the value for money in the new models" :shakefist::roflmbo::blink:

Please do tell what Euro car can keep a FG FPV 310 in sight that is UNDER DOUBLE THE PURCHASE PRICE OF AN FG 310????

I can only think of 2 small Japanese turbo AWD cars that are close in purchase price and could give an FG 310 a hard time ... dont know about you?????

Yes the diff clunks and is poorly secured in the rear subframe assembly but for the purchase price these cars are quite well engineered. Look @ the 365rwkw you are putting through your BF drivetrain without shrapnel scattered all over the road everytime you plant your foot!!!

euro cars won't compete with aussie cars because of import taxes, luxury car tax etc and dodgey aussie dealers bumping up the price.

at the current exchange rates a m3 coupe in the uk would cost you 50 thousand pounds. that's 103,000 aussie dollars including on roads. in australia its 157,000 plus on roads.

it wasn't for our tax system euro cars would compete withe aussies.

the f6 ain't cheap, one you've option bigger brakes, leathers seats, option wheels, tech pack plus on roads you don't get much change from 80 grand.

sure the m3 would still be 20k more the f6. but its a hell of a lot better car too.

Spot on Ford_esky. Geez, 2MUCHKW, I agree with the power potential vs value for money, but the new model has rescinded that a touch, and they could have improved the build quality. All I'm trying to say is that the FG doesn't do it for me, especially at the price. Many will disagree and many wil agree. I'm wrapt I bought the R Spec and plenty of new owners will no doubt be the same about their new FGs.

Im not talking if, buts or maybes mate :spoton:

So what Euro car can stay with an FG FPV 310 for UNDER DOUBLE THE PRICE?

Doc states the FG FPV 310 is poor value for money and he lives in AUSTRALIA ... so little point in refering to the price of a new BMW M3 in the UK is there :tease:

The price of Euro cars in Europe means squat to people who live in OZ :blaah:

we are getting ripped off on euro cars making an f6 cheap in comparision, but the f6 isn't cheap, just it's competitors are just over priced/taxed.

sure the f6 is much cheaper in aus then a m3, but point is the f6 isn't the bargin that it once was. the f6 is poor vaule for money, especially when compared to the xr6 t and an ss.

100% agree mate. Anyway this could be argued till the cows come home. The Fords may be well engineered but they have an inherent poor build quality, guess it just comes down to what you consider value for money, as opposed to what your prepared to put up with. IMHO to build a new car and release it with old model faults means a few people at Ford Aus or Ford Global need a decent kick in the a$$. They could have done so much better.

I also think the XR6t and the GE6T will be big sellers, but I don't think people will be kicking doors down for XTs. Naturally the FG Phoon will sell really well too, but it doesn't mean I have to like them.

Glad you've forgotten all about buying a new BMW M3 in OZ :roflmbo:

Was it a nice dream while it lasted :roflmbo:

The new FG XR6 Turbo's price is very close when optioned the luxury pack to have the same interior as the FPV's and an aftermarket brake upgrade to AP, Brembo's or Harrop's to match the FG FPV 310 big brakes.

Still cant see the FG FPV 310 as poor value for money in the new 4 door car arena :icon_ford:

listen to all these BF mk11 boys jumpin on the band wagon baggin out the FG hahaha just remember your car is the last of the B series and had 5 years to niggle out all the little problems the FG is brand spankin new theres gona be issues that will be fixed up with update models.

True and that's why you'd be stupid to buy an all new model for at least 6 months.

As to the suspension FPV's standard fare is utter crap; R spec should be the entry level and offered standard.
