The trouble is that Ford didn't get rid of the major niggles like grauncy manuals and driveline shunt in the 5 years of the BAs & BFs, and then they carry them over to this latest offering and put the price up significantly. No doubt the FG 2 will be an improvement over the first one in many ways, and Ford have improved the handling and NVH. I just think they could have done a much better job. Personally for me the new cars create as much excitement as the advertising campaigne. Maybe the advertising companies script writers got to drive them before they made the adverts. There are other car manfacturers, and I don't mean GMH, that produce comparitive cars with a much better build quality and no thumps, clunks, and bangs. If we have to stay in Aus, then even though I hate to say it. VE HSVs. Looking further afield, most euros and later US models like the V8 500, Mustangs, Camaros, etc. They can build cars that don't slap and bang, and any HiPo US car is at least 30% cheaper than an Aus equivalent. 2MUCHKW Member 350 Member For: 18y 10m 23d Posted 19/06/08 03:55 PM Share Posted 19/06/08 03:55 PM (edited) Hmmmm very interesting ... so why no Chrysler SRT in your garage then Doc?If the Chrysler SRT drives with "no thumps and bangs" I cant help but wonder why you have'nt been buying em up in pairs just like you do FPV's??? As for the VE HSV GTS or VE SS's, I have been for quite a few drives in those and can tell you they rattle, squeak and clunk worse then the BF fords ... especially when rolling to a stop at the lights. The GM 6 speed auto is a clunky dog during decel compared to the ZF.The current US Ford Mustangs still run an old live axle rear end so dont know how compartive they would be to an FG FPV 310 ... I think the Mustang would get eaten aliveYet to be released Camaros are running the VE floorpan design and drivetrain so nothing super amazing there?Compartive Euro's all at least double the price of an FG FPV 310 in Australia so absolute waste of time thinking about how good their quality is!!!As an overall all round package the FG FPV 310's gonna take allot of beating on OZ soil for the $$$$ Doc Edited 19/06/08 03:59 PM by 2MUCHKW

Did not get to drive it but had a good look around inside and out, I must say its not doing that much for me. My BF II is a good looking fast car. They have carried over to many parts of the BF that should have been new. I wont be trading.

I saw the exact car I drove again this morning on the Pakenham bypass. Frog green sticks out like dogs balls, but being that it's the first one I've seen on the road, it wasn't very tuff looking... =
