Hey all

I know that the ECU is different and thus creating more boost for the car in the typhoon. Is there any major difference such as Pistons, Injectors, Etc. I have a BF MK2 Xr6 turbo and am just wondering what the major difference is making the extra power.

Thank you

Thanks Buddy thought that was the case, just wasn't sure.

Is there any way I could get a tune for the 8-9 Psi ( typhoon Tune) ???

Thank you

just grab a cappa flash box from one of the forum sponsors with a generic tune to get you started :bangcomputer:

Most of them are around the 10psi mark, and can be picked up for sub 500$ (I've seen some for alot less too!)

Then you'll start getting into the wonderful world of modding these cars and making them bleed ya dry all the time haha

Thanks mate

Is it detectable by ford for warranty claims????

Cause the car is still under warranty and im not sure if I should tamper with it yet.

Also can the cappa flash tuners cause problems? (are they 100% safe)

Thank you

I've heard that they CAN whether not this is the case or not is another story, I've had no trouble getting warranty work with my car and It's not hard to tell it Isn't stock.

You can flash the tune into the car whenever you want, and when It's time to take her to ford, you simply put the standard tune back in, no harm done :bangcomputer:

They are 100% safe, the best base to start making these things have a little more go, Gives you a big smile once you've flashed the 10psi tune in, with the BF2 having stronger internals also is a big plus as they're hard as nails.

Later down the track It's best advised to get a custom tune, depending on where you're at in Aussie'land will be the next step as to where It's recommended you go! :)

They are 100% safe,

sorry Aaron but a generic tune from any of the workshops is not 100% safe, I would say 95% safe provided a dyno run was done to confirm the generic tune is not running lean but a fair few people have had geriatric generic tunes running way to much boost and not enough fuel... and that is a recipe for a blown motor!

Your best bet cranny is to take it to a workshop and get a custom tune done, dont risk it with a generic tune just to save yourself a dollar or two and get your plugs gapped at the same time

as for ford warranty and mods that really depends on your dealer and what you break, some have been really good to guys with fairly major mods and some have been absolute tight asses, it's the luck of the draw and at the end of the day you have to remember that "you play you pay"

He asked if the Cappa tune Box itself was safe to use.
