I was wondering what to spend my hard erned on to replace this? :banghead: It needs to be able to handle further upgrades in the future (340rw/kW) and not be too much of a pain in the ass in traffic...Suggestions much appreciated Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/46684-new-clutch/ Share on other sites

IMO a mal wood option 3 would be suitable for your needs Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/46684-new-clutch/#findComment-693601 Share on other sites

Was thinkin the Option 3, Iv read they are good for up to 400rwkw.Not sure if its worth goin a twin plate for the extra reliability if im chasin high 300's even though it will be a little tougher to drive? groper Member 611 Member For: 18y 4m 6d Posted 16/06/08 07:03 AM Share Posted 16/06/08 07:03 AM (edited) how many of the people witht the option 3 have had it in for more than 12 months? and of those people, who drives it hard with over 340rwkw?reason I say this is that a single organic plate just isnt up to it for longevity... my twin plate (organic) is now slipping at peak torque...lasted 12 months with a good bit of thrashing every now and then and 1 trip to the drags. im happy ive got this long out of it considering how nice and driveable it is and the treatment ive given it... so the same clutch is going back in but with a stronger pressure plate this time...if your going over 340rwkw, or more precisely 1000Nm of torque, then you need a pretty serious clutch if you want it to last... less drivability, last longer. better drivability, last shorter...apparently textralia are bringing out a new twin clutch soon that may be just what everyone needs, very drivable but hold big power... wont be cheap though, they currently run up near $1800 I believe...PS. this is a discussion forum, please dont let it turn into a sponsors only advertising session... I had the Extreme Cerrametallic heavy duty single plate and that lasted around 6 months with street driving and about 20 passes at the drags. I was running 313rwkw to start with, then went to 340 about 2 months before it let go.
