mustangman57 Member 11 Member For: 16y 6m 7d Posted 15/06/08 10:16 PM Author Share Posted 15/06/08 10:16 PM thanks a lot. the T5 is a pretty dirty word around here also. I am actually on my 4th T5 in my mustang. but I have been having trouble deciding on going with a T56, TKO, or a C4 automatic in my stang. it isnt hard to register a RHD car in the states my best friend has a RHD Skyline that he drives daily, the hardest part is getting the car here in the states. I would love to get one of these cars. I really appreciate all the help here keep the info coming. this is probably a dumb question but, did this motor make it to the states in any car over here. maybe just the block or just the head.... so that way I can get the bottom end or the head or something here then I would only have to order what I cant get here. im probably getting annoying with all of these questions but I am truly and absolute newbie with this car. I know everything about mustangs but I know pretty much nothing about the XR6T. just for the hell of it here is a pic of MY BABY.

The 4ltr motor is Aussie engineering at it's best, and they obviously wanted to keep it an Aussie thing! You may have a bottom end similar, as this base design is older than me!! mustangman57 Member 11 Member For: 16y 6m 7d Posted 15/06/08 10:59 PM Author Share Posted 15/06/08 10:59 PM ll you aussi's hit it right on the head when this was made!! I know ford of america has a 3.9 liter inline 6 mostly used in trucks. it is probably a whole different thing. what would be the cheapest decent engine I should be looking for. maybe 400 hp with stock bottom end. I'll fab up my own header, intake, and intercooler. and what injectors should I use. I was thinking 42 pounders I have no idea what thet would be in CC's. oh and what does everyone think of the stang? beautiful isn't it? australia wasn't lucky enough to get the stang right? they are pretty rare over there right? oh and is the 302 HO (5.0 liter) an available engine over there? just curious. The latest version is a a nice car, but you'll find a lot of folks here (including myself) who hated the '90s Mustang shape. Basically the Mustang would be unlikely to sell here, as the Falcon performance models (XR6T, XR8, FPV F6 and FPV GT) handle better, are faster, and are made to a higher quality because the Australian market is very demanding.Consider that the Mustang is still sold with a live rear axle and every Falcon model has a seriously well designed independent rear suspension setup (since 2002), and the Mustang just can't hold its own in this market. Believe me, the day you drive one of these cars you will wonder what Ford USA is thinking with regards to chassis dynamics. The only V8 used by Ford at the moment is the Triton 5.4 litre DOHC engine (but they call is "Boss" here). Currently it's putting out 315kw, 5kw more than the latest 4 litre turbo six but less torque. Most of the car magazines don't like this motor as it's not as fast as the turbo six and a bit underwhelming. Ford is considering moving straight to the 5.0 litre direct-injected V8 to replace the 5.4 litre engine. The price of Fuel is seriously affecting the direction our local manufacturers are going. mustangman57 Member 11 Member For: 16y 6m 7d Posted 16/06/08 02:51 AM Author Share Posted 16/06/08 02:51 AM yeah I have been seriously dissapointed in the IRS offered in the 99+ cobras and prefer the live axel. but I am mostly focused in drag racing and prefer the durability of a live axel. it is cheaper to build. my dad pulls 1.8 60 foot times with a 8.8 live axel using only junkyard mix and match parts as far as the axel goes. (3.73's from a Explorer, 2 driver sie axels from an explorer I believe they are 31 spline) I wish ford would wake the hell up and bring the falcon over here. has the 07 Shelby GT 500 been released over there. I am also pretty upset about the demise of the inline 6. I haven't even known about it for very long and I (in a short period of time) already know it is something special that needs to be kept alive.BA Mk1 - Weak Internals (Bottom end) Very weak valve springsBA Mk2 - Weak Internals (Bottom end) at somepoint stronger valve springs were addedBA Mk2 Typhoon - strong Internals, stronger valve springsBF Mk1 - Pre May 06 - Weak Internals, (Independant cam timing was added?)BF MK1 - Post May 06 - Typhoon spec internalsBF Mk2 - Typhoon Spec Internalsare these all the same block just with different internals, head, and cams? a in depth break down would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. and what is a good combination of mostly stock parts to get me close to 400-500HP? also what kind of power does basic 4.0 turbo make out of the box? I know I have a lot of questons and if I get annoying just let me know LOL

The heads are basically the same between the models but the BF got the variable cam timing on Intake AND Exhaust. The engines put out around 320-330hp at the flywheel stock. 400-500 at the flywheel is pretty easy to acheive with the standard turbo and intake manifold, you just have to use an appropriate exhaust (say 3.5" turbo back) and a good high flowing intake. Definately get an engine with build date after May 2006, this has all the stronger internals and will quite happily hold 500hp.One thing you will have to remember is that our cars a really designed to run on 95RON octane fuel, if you are just doing drag racing I would say you are using a high octane fuel anyway
